With four generations of ice cream making experience along with a small town beginning (in Utica, Ohio), Velvet Ice Cream is still producing old-fashioned goodness one small batch at a time. The company wanted to bring life to its brand by emphasizing their proud history and the idea that Velvet Ice Cream has been and still is 'A True Original.' Velvet Ice Cream's most iconic brand element (and company headquarters) is the gristmill, which was built in 1817 and is named Ye Olde Mill. Ye Olde Mill is the heart and soul of the company which houses the ice cream factory, restaurant and ice cream parlor that attracts over 150,000 visitors a year. The brand wanted to create a design that balanced the nostalgic, handcrafted and small town feel, that has been part of their history for over 100 years, with touches of modern and clean design to better connect with today's consumer.
